Form Description

The Kicho Hyeong forms are generally attributed to Hwang Kee and were originally developed in 1947.

The “lines” of the form are an I-shape. You start by moving to the left, then back to the right. Then up the middle. Then to the right, and back to the left. Then back down the middle.

Techniques:

  • Front Stance (Chun kul jah seh)
  • High Block (Sang dan mahk ki)
  • Low Block (Ha dan mahk ki)
  • Center Punch (Choong dan kong kyuck)

Steps:

  1. Left turn 90º into left leg front stance with left hand low block and kihap. [W]
  2. Right step forward into right leg front stance with right hand center punch. [W]
  3. Right turn 180º into right leg front stance with right hand low block. [E]
  4. Left step forward into left leg front stance with left hand center punch. [E]
  5. Left turn 90º into left hand low block and left leg front stance. [N]
  6. Right hand high block landing forward into right leg front stance. [N]
  7. Left hand high block landing forward into left leg front stance. [N]
  8. Right hand high block landing forward into right leg front stance and kihap. [N]
  9. Left turn 270º into left leg front stance with left hand low block. [E]
  10. Right step forward into right leg front stance with right hand center punch. [E]
  11. Right turn 180º into right leg front stance with right hand low block. [W]
  12. Left step forward into left leg front stance with left hand center punch. [W]
  13. Left turn 90º into left leg front stance with left hand low block. [S]
  14. Right leg hand high block landing forward into right leg front stance. [S]
  15. Left leg hand high block landing forward into left leg front stance. [S]
  16. Right leg hand high block with kihap landing forward into right leg front stance. [S]
  17. Left turn 270º into left leg front stance with left hand low block. [W]
  18. Right step forward into right leg front stance with right hand center punch. [W]
  19. Right turn 180º into right leg front stance with right hand low block. [E]
  20. Left step forward into left leg front stance with left hand center punch and kihap. [E]
